About This Event
“Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” (Isa.5:20). As Christians, how are we to live in a culture that calls wrong right and right wrong? Does the Bible speak to Christians who live in societies where the prevailing norms are often shifting against the moral standards and commands of the Word of God? Thankfully, the Bible does speak to such times! The Apostle Paul warns that there would be times when “they will not endure sound doctrine” (2 Tim. 4:3a). And worse, Paul writes that “they will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths” (2 Tim. 4:4). How is the church called to respond at such times? Is the church just supposed to “go along to get along?” Paul tells us that we are to continue to think biblically that we might respond biblically at times when right is called wrong. We are called to “preach the Word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching” (2 Tim. 4:2). Our call, no matter what the culture may say, is to keep “holding fast the Word of life” (Php. 2:16a).
In light of this continuing charge, we are excited about our 36th Annual Truth & Hope Conference, whose theme is “When Right is Called Wrong.” We are so pleased to have Dr. Lance Quinn with us, Executive Vice President of the Expositors Seminary, who will bring excellent biblical insight on this important topic.
You will see that the weekend begins Friday night with a catered meal, followed by Dr. Quinn’s first session entitled: “Discerning Between Genuine and Artificial Change.” In addition, Dr. Quinn will be speaking on Saturday, as well as teaching a workshop. Additionally, also see that we are offering a number of other excellent workshops on Saturday on numerous topics. Each of these will be taught by experienced biblical counselors. Lunch will also be included! We hope that you will join us as we seek to strengthen God’s people for the living of these days!
