About This Event
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds” (Psa.147:3). Augustine is quoted as saying that “the church is a hospital for sinners, not a showplace for saints.” This understanding of the church fits with the promise of Christ’s healing for those who know that they are wounded by their own sins or wounded by the sins of others. The opportunity to have spiritual wounds bound is why the Lord gave the Great Commission to the Church. It is the Church’s duty to reach the hurting and the lost with the precious gospel of Christ. Thankfully, our Lord has invested all things necessary for the Church to be able to fulfill His commission to heal the brokenhearted and bind up their spiritual wounds. One of those significant means is through the ministry of Biblical Counseling via the Church (Col.1:28).
In light of this, we are excited about our 35th Annual Truth & Hope Conference, whose theme is “The Primacy of the Church in Counseling.” We are pleased to have Pastor Tim Pasma with us, who will bring excellent biblical insight into this important topic.
You will see that the weekend begins Friday night with a catered meal, followed by Pastor Pasma teaching a session entitled: “The Primacy of the Church in Counseling? Because I haven’t Seen It” Please also note that we offer excellent workshops on Saturday on numerous topics, all taught by experienced counselors, with lunch! Join us!
